New Girly Bear

I mentioned in my last post about the lovely dusky pink piece of mohair I had on my work desk, well this little girl was created using it, I really enjoyed working with this mohair, it was lovely and dense with a good strong backing and I found the perfect ultra suede for her pads.  Looking through my fabric stash I found the lovely silver grey cotton with roses to match her fur which made the perfect dress and bow for her which I decorated with white cotton edging, I love how she turned out.  She was snapped up very quickly by a lovely lady, I will be sad to see her leave but I am sure she will be well loved and looked after.  I now have a vintage style bunny cut out and on my work desk, back to traditional brown colours for this bunny but hoping it turns out to be a girl and I can give her a nice dress.  Won't be long before Christmas now, I still have some bears waiting on my website for adoption that would make ideal presents for family or friends or even for a little self indulgent treat at Christmas time.

New Bears

I thought I would share what I have been making since Little and Large, Ernest and Ethel are both 5 inches high and sit lovely in the palm of your hand, this is my favorite size of bear to work on, a little bit bigger than the miniature and so a bit easier to make them clothes although I still ended up making a few things before I decided on the tank tops they are wearing.  I am pleased how they both turned out. Well.. back to work now, I have a beautiful piece of dusky pink mohair on my work desk at the moment, I think it will make a lovely girly bear.

Little and Large

Well I did promise to pop by with a picture of the 2 bears I was in the middle of creating, really pleased with how they turned out, so please meet Rocky and Billy.  Rocky is one of the largest bears I have made at 14 inches and Billy is approximately 3 inches.  He loved sitting on top of Rocky's head in a nice warm pile of fur but that didn't last very long as Rocky was adopted quite quickly and Billy is still looking for his forever home.
I am now back to working on a couple of 5 inch bears which are my favorite size to work with, not too fiddly and big enough to dress if I feel like making them something.  Will pop by to add some work in progress pictures soon.
